Pacemaster Treadmill - A Leader in the Mid End Price Range

The Pacemaster treadmill has a great reputation in the fitness community. All of their models have been ranked among the top machines over the past years. This page provides a review on the reputable fitness equipment manufacturer.

Company Background

Pacemaster operates under the company Aerobics Inc. It was founded in 1968 by one of the most influential figure in the development of treadmill. Bill Staub, the founder, used groundbreaking Aerobic Points philosophy into all of his Pace Master treadmills. They have been building treadmill for the past 30 years. Furthermore, most of their models would be awarded as best buy when compared to its competing treadmill.

Staub used his inspiration on Dr. Kenneth Cooper’s principles on aerobic exercise to provide his clients with cardiovascular benefits at the end of each workout. The past 30 years have been extensive research and development on Pacemaster treadmills.

Pacemaster did not compromise the quality of their machines by look overseas for cheaper parts. Their 2005 treadmills models are all examples of innovation, quality, and performance.

Strong Point

The first strong point of Pacemaster treadmills is its high quality. They did look overseas for cheaper parts; all their parts are made in the US. They did not want to compromise the quality for cheaper parts offered in other countries. Their strong quality leads to the next strong point, its good warranty.

The frames are warranted for life, motor for 12 years, parts for 5 years, and 1 year in parts. Their frames are welded, instead of bolted, which results in a stronger stability and an increase in its durability. The strong warranty shows its good reliability.

All motors are 3.0 continuous horse power. This provides the treadmill with enough power to motion the belt without any struggle.

Last but not least, the overall quality and value rated high in Pacemaster treadmills. From what we have seen, Pacemaster has put more effort into offering a better value and concentrating on efficiency which has kept the component quality level high.

All these strong points are the results of excellent ratings and favorable reviews from treadmill experts. We have included a list of expert review that demonstrates this brand’s dominance in the fitness equipment industry.

Weak Point

Pacemaster treadmills have very few weak points. Their main weakness would be its stability issues in its lower end models. The frames are made of aluminum, which render the treadmill lighter, thus lowering the stability. The other contributing factor to its stability is its smaller dimensions.

The weight of their models range from 190 to 205 lbs, which it quite light when comparing it to its 400 max user weight capacity.

Pacemaster Bronze Treadmill

Pacemaster treadmill - Bronze

All the performance you need in a straightforward, easy to use format – that’s what the Bronze treadmill offers. With adjustable time and intensity workouts you can create a wide range of program variations to match your fitness goals. Four LED display windows provide you with constant performance feedback throughout the workout.

The Bronze was voted as a best buy by Treadmill doctor within its price range. The Bronze and Silver treadmill are the only Pacemaster treadmills that received criticism on its stability. The light weight and smaller dimensions of the machine lowers the stability.

Keep in mind that the Bronze Pacemaster treadmill does not have any heart rate monitoring or control.

Nonetheless, the Bronze treadmill is a high quality machine. It may not have as many features, but the ones included are of utmost importance. Welded frames and maintenance free deck might not make your workout more enjoyable, but it will prolong the lifetime of your machine, thus happier with your purchase.

This treadmill's sophisticated electronics and programming options make it an incredible value. Compared to other models in this price range, its warranty is good; belt size is average, above average motor CHP. Its drawback is also its stability.

Its heart rate control and monitoring is what sets this model apart from the Bronze. It may not be worth the additional $200, but it’s up to you to decide the importance of heart rate monitoring.
