Cybex Treadmill - High Quality and High Priced Treadmills

Cybex treadmill models are either light or full commercial treadmills. They are expensive machines but have and excellent overall quality. This page will review Cybex’s 3 treadmill models as well as its…

Company Background

Trotter Inc was founded in 1973. Founder Edward Trotter built fitness equipment to help prevent cardiovascular diseases. On May 1997, Cybex merged with Trotter to become the Cybex International you see today.

Cybex international has become a leader in the manufacturing of fitness, cardiovascular and strength equipment. They based their exercise equipment on the science of ergonomics and biomechanics.

“Cybex equipment is designed to achieve optimum results and ensure proper body movement.”

Strong Point

Overall, Cybex treadmills are well built fitness machines. They have a strong motor, large running/walking space and good cushioning system. Remember that Cybex treadmills were built based on the science of biomechanics and ergonomics.

The quality and reliability of these machines are excellent. Cybex International did a good job with these treadmills.

Weak Point

The main weak point of the Cybex treadmill is the value. These treadmills are priced at over $6,000. Pacemaster and Precor offer similar machines at a substantially lower price. There is no doubt that these models are top performing and good quality machines but the price tag may simply be too much.

The warranty is for the commercial models are weak. These warranties are based on the fact that they will be used 6-8 hours daily.

Expert Reviews

Epinions.com rate the Cybex Pro+ 5 star out of 5. (1 customer)

Consumersearch.com rated discontinued Cybex treadmills are best buys (Cybex 400S) and recommended (Cybex 500S and Cybex 800S-CT).

TreadmillDoctor rated the Cybex Pro “Best DC Drive Commercial Treadmil.”

Conclusion

Cybex treadmills are too expensive since they are commercial models. Pacemaster, Precor or Lifefitness are good high end treadmills.

Cybex LCX 425T Treadmill - *BEST VALUE WITHIN CYBEX*

Cybex treadmill - LCX 425T

The LCX 425 T Cybex is the only recommended model for home use. In fact, it is the only model with a home warranty. This model is overall a solid treadmill. It has a large running area as well as a 3.0 CHP motor.

It comes with heart rate monitors and HR control programs. Its console is well designed and is capable of storing water bottles, magazines and audio players.

As mentioned in our conclusion, although this model is solid and well made, the price is on the high side. Even if you have the budget, look a Pacemaster, Precor, or even Lifefitness for high end machines.

Cybex Pro+ Treadmill

Cybex treadmill - Pro

The Pro+ Cybex is a special treadmill. It is able to decline up to -2%. It is not encouraged to constantly run in the negative incline because you are forcing the motor to power the belt against gravity. Nonetheless it is a feature that can be used moderately.

As far as its specs and features, they are all top of the line. The Pro+ Cybex treadmill has a heart rate monitor and control with a wireless chest strap included and 8 built in programs to add some variety.

This is a commercial model; therefore its warranty is short and not reflective of its value and quality.
